Family fight ends in shooting death

OVERLAND, Mo. — One person was killed early Wednesday after a fight between family members turned violent in Overland.

According to the Overland Police Department, officers responded at about 1 a.m. Wednesday to the 9700 block of Holtwood Road where an apparent altercation between relatives resulted in one person shooting the other.

One person was pronounced dead at the scene, and a suspect was taken into custody without incident, police said.

The Overland Police Department Bureau of Criminal Investigation was continuing to investigate.

The Bullet Related Injury Clinic (BRIC) is a community-based clinic in St. Louis that helps people heal after they have been injured by a bullet. The BRIC was established to help people who are discharged from the emergency department after being shot.
