TROY, Mo. — Police were searching for witnesses and surveillance video after a woman was found shot and killed Thursday morning in Troy, Missouri.
According to the Troy Police Department, officers responded just before 1 a.m. Thursday to the report of a person down at a home in the 100 block of Melody Lane. Upon arrival, police found a woman who had been fatally shot in the head.
Officers began canvassing the area of the home for possible witnesses or surveillance video connected to the deadly shooting.
Police initially advised people to stay clear of the area as they investigated. They later reopened the area to normal traffic.
The investigation remained ongoing on Thursday.
Troy police said Thursday afternoon they were looking into the incident as a possible suicide as there was nothing suspicious.
