ST. LOUIS — A shooting late Thursday night in north St. Louis left a man dead.
According to the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department, officers found a man in his 60s with a gunshot wound to the head just before 11:15 p.m. Thursday inside a car in the 6000 block of West Florissant Avenue, located on the edge of the city's Walnut Park West and North Pointe neighborhoods.
The victim was pronounced dead at the scene, and the Homicide Division assumed the ongoing investigation, police said.
At the scene, 5 On Your Side saw the victim lying in the street near the intersection of West Florissant and Pamplin Avenues. The body was next to a car that had its passenger window smashed out, and the vehicle had been hit multiple times by bullets.
As of Friday morning, police had not shared the victim's identity or whether any arrests had been made.

The Bullet Related Injury Clinic (BRIC) is a community-based clinic in St. Louis that helps people heal after they have been injured by a bullet. The BRIC was established to help people who are discharged from the emergency department after being shot.
