ST. LOUIS — The St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department is investigating the death of two men Wednesday morning.

Police were securing the area near Upton and Pennsylvania where an unrelated explosive device was reported when the suspect approached them and admitted to killing two people.

A police source told 5 On Your Side the suspect told police that "something came over him" before shooting his roommates "a couple days ago." He gave officers the keys to the house and told them where to go. He also told police that he was hearing voices, according to a probable cause statement.

Officers went to the home in the 3000 block of Wyoming Street and found two men, ages 77 and 63, who had been fatally shot in the kitchen.

The suspect, 60-year-old Edward Labrier, was arrested and charged with two counts of first-degree murder and two counts of armed criminal action in connection to the double killing, according to St. Louis County police. Bond information was not available.
