2 dead after shooting in St. Louis County

St. Louis County police are still investigating the fatal double shooting.

ST. LOUIS COUNTY, Mo. — The St. Louis County Police Department is investigating the deaths of two men early Monday morning. 

Police said officers responded to a call for a shooting at about 1:50 a.m. in the 2900 block of Old Hanley Road. Officers at the scene found two men inside a home who were shot. 

Both men, 43-year-old Jason Bowdy and 41-year-old Lance Ballard, were pronounced dead at the scene.

A preliminary investigation showed there was an exchange of gunshots inside the home, police said. Bowdy was shot by Ballard. A third person reportedly shot Ballard.

St. Louis County police are still investigating what led up to the double shooting.
