ST. LOUIS — A man died after succumbing to bullet-related injuries early Saturday morning in downtown St. Louis.
The St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department sent District 4 officers to the scene of a shooting in the 200 block of N. 9th Street around 4:30 a.m.
Police shared on X, formerly known as Twitter, that the victim died.
SLMPD named the victim Sunday morning. He was Michael Moore-Pittman, 18. He lived in the 10000 block of Toelle Lane.
Homicide detectives were requested, police said. SLMPD has not released further details at this time.
According to SLMPD's crime report, there has been an increase in murder, shooting incidents, and shooting victims in the 4th district compared to this time last year.

The Bullet Related Injury Clinic (BRIC) is a community-based clinic in St. Louis that helps people heal after they have been injured by a bullet. The BRIC was established to help people who are discharged home from the emergency department after being shot.
