EAST ST. LOUIS, Ill. — One person was killed early Wednesday morning in a shooting at a housing complex in East St. Louis.
East St. Louis police responded to a shooting at about 12:50 a.m. Wednesday at Roosevelt Homes, located in the 1300 block of North 44th Street, according to Illinois State Police. A victim had been struck by gunfire and was pronounced dead at the scene.
East St. Louis police requested assistance from the ISP Division of Criminal Investigation and Public Safety Enforcement Group to investigate the deadly shooting.
According to ISP, a suspect was identified and police were attempting to locate them.
No other information was available as of Wednesday morning.
