Eureka police searching for bank robber caught on camera

Police said the robbery happened at the Commerce Bank on East 5th Street. The man is seen on camera at the bank and later driving in a neighborhood.

EUREKA, Mo. — The Eureka Police Department is searching for a man suspected of robbing a bank Saturday morning.

Police said at around 11:30 a.m., officers responded to a robbery at the Commerce Bank located at 203 East 5th Street. 

According to officers, witnesses said a suspect entered the building and demanded money from the tellers. The suspect then fled north from the bank with an undisclosed amount of money. No injuries were reported during the incident.

Police described the suspect as a "middle-aged male, approximately 5'10", wearing an olive drab-colored sweater, blue jeans, a white sock hat, and a surgical-type mask."

Police also released neighborhood surveillance video of a white truck, which they said was leaving the Elk Trails and Fawn Meadows subdivision immediately after the robbery. The department said the driver is believed to be the person of interest.
