EAST ST. LOUIS, Ill. — A Cahokia Heights, Illinois, man was charged after a fatal hit-and-run crash last month in the Metro East.
Jamaal McCray, 47, was charged by the St. Clair County State's Attorney's Office with failure to report an accident involving death.
Mario Poster, 42, was struck on Jan. 27 near the intersection of Market Avenue and 8th Street in East St. Louis, police said. He was transported to an area hospital where he was pronounced dead.
The East St. Louis Police Department requested Illinois State Police to assist in the investigation.
McCray was identified as a person of interest and taken into custody days later.
