GLENDALE, Mo. — Police released new information and photos of a suspect in a home invasion that occurred in Glendale over the weekend.
On Nov. 16, around 2 p.m., a home in the 700 block of Bismark Avenue was burglarized. Police said the armed suspect knocked on the resident’s front door and asked to use the phone. As the resident tried to hand him the phone, the suspect forced his way into the home and told the residents to give him cash and jewelry. The residents were not injured during the incident, but he made them lay down, face down in their home as he left the home.
Glendale Police were assisted at the scene by the Warson Woods, Rock Hill and Webster Groves Police Departments, as well as a police K9 from the St. Ann Police Department.
In addition to the home invasion, several residents in the 800 block of Glen Elm Drive, which is approximately 1.25 miles from where the home invasion happened, residents reported a man with a similar description who approached them at their homes. A ‘Ring’ doorbell camera captured images of the suspect.
The residents said the man said someone stole his dogs and he was out looking for them. One resident reported the suspect drove a black Jeep vehicle, believed to be a Jeep Patriot.
Police showed the video of the alleged suspect to the Bismark Avenue victim who positively identified the man as the suspect in his home invasion.
Residents are asked to report any suspicious activity by calling 911.
