Person critically injured in Granite City shooting, suspected shooter still on the run

Police believe the suspect fled the scene of the shooting, and an arrest has not been made.

GRANITE CITY, Ill. — A person is in the hospital for treatment after a shooting in Granite City Sunday afternoon.

Police said they were called to a shooting near the intersection of Hodges Avenue and Hodges Street at around 2:45. When they arrived, they found a person shot multiple times. The person was rushed to the hospital and was listed in critical condition as of Sunday night.

Police believe the suspect fled the scene of the shooting, and an arrest has not been made.

No other information about the shooting was released. 

The investigation is ongoing.
