A hotel security officer who has not been taken into custody was charged Monday for allegedly using his pass key to sneak in and grope a guest at the Hyatt Regency St. Louis at the Arch in April.

According to charging documents, David Allen White — a 46-year-old resident the 2100 block of N Keebler Avenue — was charged with one count of first-degree burglary and one count of second-degree sexual abuse. He remains at large.

Police said the victim was staying at the Hyatt Regency St. Louis at the Arch for a business conference. The victim told police White snuck into her room using his security card at around 1 a.m. on April 19 as she slept.

The victim said White groped her over her clothing. When she woke up, White ran out of the room.

Hyatt released the following statement in response to the charges:

At Hyatt Regency St. Louis at the Arch, the safety and security of guests and associates is a top priority. The hotel is fully cooperating with the authorities on their investigation involving an individual who is no longer employed at the hotel, and additional inquiries should be directed to the St. Louis Police Department.
