Suspicious death investigation underway after teen found fatally shot near Lemay school district central office

Police said in a Thursday update that detectives do not believe he died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

LEMAY, Mo. — Detectives are investigating the scene where a teenager was shot and killed in Lemay, the St. Louis County Police Department said.

Officers initially responded to the scene at 12:50 p.m. Tuesday at the 300 block of Goetz Avenue near the Hancock Place School District's central administration office, which doubles as an early childhood center. There, they found the teen suffering from a gunshot injury, who was later pronounced dead at the scene.

The teen was identified Thursday as 16-year-old Amorion Fuller. 

Police said in the Thursday update that detectives do not believe he died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

No further information was released.
