COLLINSVILLE, Ill. — Two Belleville men were arrested after a 21-year-old victim was found dead in a ditch Wednesday morning in Collinsville, Illinois.
Prosecutors charged Carlos Mosley, 23, and Amari McGee, 22, with first-degree murder Thursday. Both are from the Belleville area.
According to the Collinsville Police Department, officers responded to the 500 block of Loop Street in Collinsville where they found 21-year-old Tyrese Owens, of Collinsville, dead, lying in a nearby ditch. Owens had a severe cut to his torso, officials said.
The department requested the activation of the Major Case Squad of Greater St. Louis. Deputy Commander Mark Kuechle is leading the case with about 20 investigators.
