Man accused of recording video in Collinsville church bathroom, police say

Two victims were recorded without their consent in 2023.

COLLINSVILLE, Ill. — Police said two women were recorded without their consent last summer in a Collinsville church bathroom.

Wayne E. Stombaugh, 60, was an attendee of Unity Spiritual Center at 700 West Clay St. in Collinsville. Police said he recorded two victims in the women's bathroom in June and July 2023.

The Madison County State’s Attorney’s Office charged Stombaugh on Thursday with three counts of unauthorized video recording.

Stombaugh had not been arrested as of Thursday, police said.
