Man arrested after attempting to meet up with minor for sexual contact

The California man was working in St. Louis as an in-home cable repairman.

ST. LOUIS — Police arrested a man they said was looking to meet up with a child for sexual contact.

St. Louis County Police arrested Cesar Sanchez, 36, of Perris, California, on several charges related to the incident. Police said he was chatting online with someone he believed was a child under 15 years old.

Sanchez sought to engage in sexual contact with the victim and attempted to meet up with the victim, police said. Sanchez was arrested when he showed up to the meeting place.

Sanchez was working in St. Louis as an in-home cable repairman. Sanchez may have been in contact with other child victims online, but no other victims were immediately known.

Other victims or anyone with additional information are asked to call St. Louis County Police Department at 636-529-8210.

Sanchez is facing charges of enticement or attempted enticement of a child and age misrepresentation with intent to solicit a minor for sexual misconduct.

The Department of Homeland Security and the Chesterfield Police Department assisted with this investigation.
