Police arrest suspect in deadly East St. Louis shooting

United States Marshals Service took him into custody on July 29, more than a month after he was charged with murder.

EAST ST. LOUIS, Ill. — A Belleville man was arrested more than a month after he was charged in connection with a deadly shooting in East St. Louis earlier this year.

Robert E. Hyde, 48, was arrested Monday in connection with the June 12 deadly shooting of Kenyatta Brown. 

According to a press release from the Illinois State Police, their investigators were requested to investigate after Brown was found shot to death in the middle of the street on 45th Street in East St. Louis.

St. Clair County State's Attorney James Gomric filed one count of first-degree murder against Hyde. He was taken into custody by the United States Marshals Service on July 29.

He is being held in the St. Clair County Jail.
