ST. LOUIS — A man suspected of assaulting a 73-year-old security guard last month was charged Thursday.
Demorion Marks, 21, was charged with first-degree assault and first-degree attempted robbery in connection with the attack on a security guard on Jan. 27.
According to St. Louis police, Marks and another man attacked the security guard at The Icon apartments on Grand Boulevard. Police said Marks and the other man tried to steal the security guard's gun before fleeing the scene in a maroon Chevrolet Cruze.
Earlier this month, police released photos of Marks and another male wanted in connection with the crime. In a statement, the department said a second male was arrested, but the circuit attorney's office refused charges on the second person due to "lack of evidence."
Marks is being held without bond.
