Man charged for allegedly hitting man with vehicle after argument at Fenton Walmart

FENTON, Mo. — A Granite City, Illinois, man has been charged with assault for allegedly ramming another man with a vehicle following a dispute in the parking lot outside of the Walmart department store, 653 Gravois Bluffs, in Fenton. St. Louis County Police arrested the suspect in House Springs, according to court records.

The St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office charged Jake Robinson, 19, on July 25 with first-degree assault, leaving the scene of an accident and armed criminal action. As of July 26, Robinson was being held without bond at St. Louis County Jail, police reported.

According to the case’s probable-cause statement, Robinson and another man were arguing at about 8:10 p.m. July 24 in the parking lot. Robinson got into his vehicle and allegedly hit the other man at a high rate of speed before fleeing the parking lot.

The victim was seriously injured and taken to an area hospital.
