ST. LOUIS — A St. Louis man was charged with murder Friday, more than a year after police said he shot and killed a man while driving on the McKinley Bridge.
Brandon Allen, 34, was charged with first-degree murder, first-degree assault and two counts of armed criminal action in connection with the March 4, 2023, shooting death of Douglas Sanders.
According to charging documents, police said Allen, Sanders and three other victims were all at Roxy's Gentlemen's Club in Illinois when they got into an "interaction." Police said Allen was seen in surveillance video getting behind the wheel of his girlfriend's car, and a second person was seen getting into the passenger seat.
Police said security video then shows Allen drive after the victim's car and people in the two cars then exchanged gunfire.
Sanders was struck by gunfire in the back of the head and later died from his injuries. A second victim was shot in the back and hospitalized for weeks.
According to charging documents, Allen identified himself as one of the people in the security video from Roxy's where he was seen getting into his girlfriend's car.
According to online court documents, Allen is being held without bond.
