ST. LOUIS — A St. Louis man was charged with murder in connection with the deadly shooting of a man in south St. Louis.
Torey Paige, 30, was charged in connection with the Nov. 25 deadly shooting of Antonio Watson.
According to the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department, officers responded to a shooting at about 8:45 p.m. in the 4900 block of Bonita Avenue.
Police said a 35-year-old man was found in the street with gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene. He was identified as Antonio Watson of Maplewood.
According to the probable cause statement, Paige was riding with two other people when Watson called one of the other people in the car. Watson got mad when he realized the person was with Paige and threatened to hurt everyone in the car.
The probable cause statement said Paige asked to be dropped off before reaching their destination on Bonita Avenue, and the people in the car reported hearing gunshots. When they picked Paige up later in the night, he told them that he shot Watson and said he would kill them if they "snitched," according to the probable cause statement.
Police said Watson did not have a weapon on him when they arrived on the scene.
Paige was taken into custody and is being held without bond.
