Man critically injured in Saturday morning shooting in downtown St. Louis

The man said he was in the area when a maroon sedan rolled by. He said someone inside the car shot at him, hitting him in the chest and arm.

ST. LOUIS — A man is in critical condition after police said he was shot by someone in a maroon sedan in the early morning hours of Saturday.

Police said they were called to the intersection of Morgan and North Second Streets near Laclede's Landing at around 12:30 Saturday morning. When they arrived, they found a man shot in the chest and arm.

The man said after he got into an argument with someone, a maroon sedan rolled by. He said someone inside the car shot at him, hitting him in the chest and arm.

Police said the victim could not provide police with more information because of how seriously he was hurt.

Police said the victim was rushed to the hospital where he was listed in critical condition.

The investigation is ongoing.
