ST. LOUIS – A 36-year-old man is facing charges after shots were fired near a popular area on Washington Avenue in St. Louis’ Downtown West neighborhood.
Brandon Fletcher is facing one count of unlawful possession of a firearm and one count of resisting or interfering with arrest.
Around 1 a.m. Sunday, officers responded to 14th and Washington for a report of shots fired. No one was hit or injured during the shooting.
According to court documents, police responded to the sounds of a shooting and saw Fletcher sitting in the passenger seat of a Nissan Altima with ballistic damage. Fletcher said a white pickup truck had pulled up on him and started firing.
Police found a Del-Ton .556 semi-automatic assault rifle and said the muzzle was warm, which indicated the gun had recently been fired. Court documents also said Fletcher is a convicted felon.
Fletcher also tried to run from police, but officers were able to catch him.
