Man fatally shot Monday afternoon in Bellefontaine Neighbors

Police identified the man as 24-year-old Tyler Brown of St. Louis.

ST. LOUIS COUNTY, Mo. — A man died at an area hospital after he was shot Monday afternoon in Bellefontaine Neighbors.

According to the St. Louis County Police Department, officers from the Bellefontaine Neighbors Police Department responded just after 1 p.m. to the shooting in the 9800 block of Calumet Drive.

Officers found a man who had been shot; he was rushed to an area hospital, where he was later pronounced dead. He was identified as 24-year-old Tyler Brown of St. Louis.

The city requested the county police department's Bureau of Crimes Against Persons to assume the investigation.

The Bullet Related Injury Clinic (BRIC) is a community-based clinic in St. Louis that helps people heal after they have been injured by a bullet. The BRIC was established to help people who are discharged from the emergency department after being shot.
