Man charged with murder of man found dead in Calverton Park garage

CALVERTON PARK, Mo. — A man was charged with murder Monday night in connection with the death of a man found dead in a Calverton Park garage Sunday afternoon.

Kenneth Alvern Linzie, 68, was found dead in a garage behind a home in Calverton Park Sunday afternoon. The Major Case Squad took over the investigation, and on Monday, Jeffrey E. Tod was charged with second-degree murder and armed criminal action.

A press release from the Major Case Squad said Linzie was found dead just before 12:30 Sunday afternoon on Williams Boulevard, which is less than a mile from McCluer High School.

Monday afternoon, they took Tod into custody as a person of interest. He was charged a few hours later.

Tod's bond was set at $500,000, cash only.
