Man hit by his stolen car at QuikTrip in north St. Louis County

The man was taken to the hospital for treatment. His injuries were not life-threatening.

ST. LOUIS COUNTY, Mo. — A man was robbed of his car at a gas station and hit by his own car Thursday morning in north St. Louis County.

A spokesperson for the St. Louis County Police Department said the robbery happened at about 5:50 a.m. at the QuikTrip at 2791 Dunn Road.

When officers arrived at the scene, they found a man injured. He told police someone robbed him of his car. When he tried to open the door and get his car back, the robber drove off.

Police said the man was either struck or dragged by his car. 

The man was taken to the hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

The investigation is ongoing.

The Urban League of Metropolitan St. Louis has the Neighborhood Healing Network, which serves people who have experienced crime, violence or been the victim of an incident that caused trauma.

Cure Violence is an international organization that is present in a handful of St. Louis neighborhoods. Violence interrupters are trained to de-escalate violent situations within their own communities.
