ST. LOUIS — A Black Jack man was indicted Wednesday in federal court on charges connected to multiple armed robberies across the St. Louis area.
Ronald O. Perkins, 28, was charged with four counts of robbery, one count of discharging a firearm in furtherance of a violent crime, three counts of brandishing a firearm in furtherance of a violent crime and one count of transporting a firearm across state lines with intent to commit a felony.
According to the U.S. Attorney's Office for Missouri's Eastern District, the indictment accuses Perkins of robbing the following businesses:
- A Mobil Gas Mart in St. Louis on Sept. 8
- Wheeler’s Service Station on Nov. 8
- A 7-Eleven in St. Louis County on Nov. 8
- A BP Gas Mart in St. Louis County on Nov. 12.
He was also accused of taking a gun across state lines on Nov. 17 with the intent to commit an armed robbery.
If convicted, each robbery charge carries a penalty of up to 20 years in prison and/or a fine of up to $250,000. The discharge of a firearm charge carries a penalty of at least 10 years, which would run consecutive to the other charges, and/or a $250,000 fine.
The FBI investigated this case alongside police departments in St. Louis County, Collinsville, Richmond Heights and Columbia, Illinois.
