WENTZVILLE, Mo. — Police are asking for the public’s help in finding a man who they believe shot and injured another man outside a Walgreens in Wentzville Friday.
The shooting happened on the parking lot of the store at 1053 Meyer Road. The victim was shot in the arm. He was treated and released at the scene and is expected to survive, Wentzville police said.
The gunman drove away from the scene, and police are still searching for him.
Friday evening, Wentzville police released detailed information about the man they suspect is responsible for the shooting.
They believe the suspect is Mitchell Andrews. He’s a 25-year-old man with brown eyes, brown hair and a beard and mustache.
Police said he is likely driving a 2015 Buick Verano with Missouri plates TE1-B1Z. The car has front-end damage. It’s dark blue but could appear to be black, police said. Police shared the photo below as an example of what his car looks like.
Andrews is living in his vehicle, police added, and he’s known to frequently visit parks, dead-end streets and other secluded areas in the evening.
Wentzville police warned that if you do see Andrews, you should not approach him. Instead, call police at 636-327-5105 to have officers respond.
Police have not released a potential motive for the shooting. Detectives are talking to the victim to determine if the two men knew each other, but that remains unclear.
There are daycares and doctors' offices in the area, but police said there was no need for a lockdown, and they didn’t believe there was a threat to anyone in the area.
