Man robbed while walking down St. Louis city street

The victim was approached by three armed men on Friday evening.
Entergy workers walked the Garden District looking for problems. They are called "walkdowns."

ST. LOUIS — A man contacted police after he was robbed in St. Louis City on Friday evening. 

The 28-year-old man contacted St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department, District 6, after he was robbed while walking in the 4600 block of Elmbank Avenue around 7 p.m.

According to the police report, he was approached by three men wearing dark clothing. One of the men was wearing a ski mask and the other two were armed with handguns. Police said one of them had an AR pistol.

The three men announced the robbery and took the victim's cash, credit cards, and ID.

Police said the victim was walking to meet an acquaintance. 

According to the SLMPD crime report, the year-to-date number of robberies in District 6 is worse than in 2023.

This is an ongoing investigation.

The Bullet Related Injury Clinic (BRIC) is a community-based clinic in St. Louis that helps people heal after they have been injured by a bullet. The BRIC was established to help people who are discharged home from the emergency department after being shot.
