ST. LOUIS - Jermaine Parker has been sentenced to 15 years in prison after pleading guilty to shooting a firearm from a box truck on Nov. 25, a few hours after the Ferguson Grand Jury announcement.

According to court documents, authorities were responding to a report of looting at a pawn shop in the Tower Grove South neighborhood when intelligence officers reported the suspects had entered a white box truck. Officers in an undercover car began following the box truck and someone in the truck fired shots at, or near, a crowd of people.

Officers attempted to pull the truck over and a pursuit ensued. The box truck ran over police spikes-strips, deflating two tires, and ran through a red light before coming to a stop.

Parker was in the front seat when officers approached the vehicle, refusing to show his hands. Police noticed Parker manipulating an unknown object between his legs when a silver revolver fell to the floor, landing at his feet.

Spent shell casings were also found in the vehicle.
