ST. LOUIS — A man who fled police in a stolen vehicle and caused a deadly crash in north St. Louis was sentenced to 10 years in prison.
Jerome A. Green, 24, pleaded guilty to involuntary manslaughter and resisting arrest as part of a plea agreement. He was originally charged with second-degree murder and other counts.
The 24-year-old admitted to fleeing from police in a stolen pickup truck on Jan. 15, 2019. He crashed at North 20th and Salisbury streets in St. Louis' Hyde Park neighborhood which resulted in the death of Harvey Lee, 48, according to a press release.
Police said Green fled from an attempted traffic stop, sped more than 90 miles per hour, ran a stoplight and crashed into Lee's car. Lee was pronounced dead at an area hospital.
