ST. LOUIS — A St. Louis man has been sentenced for the beating death of a man last year.

Antonio Cartez Mosley, 27, pleaded guilty Thursday to voluntary manslaughter in the death of Michael Finocchiaro, 62.

Prosecutors said Finocchiaro was killed April 21, 2023, at the 1700 block of Cass Avenue in the Columbus Square neighborhood of north St. Louis city.

Prosecutors said the two men met on a dating app and met at Mosley's apartment, where they got into an argument and Finocchiaro was killed. They said the victim suffered several blunt force trauma injuries to the head.

Police said that three days later, they got a call about a body wrapped in garbage bags sealed with duct tape at 10th Street and Cass Avenue. They identified Finocchiaro as the victim through fingerprints.

Police said surveillance video showed Mosley loading what appeared to be a body into the trunk of his car. Mosley's vehicle was also seen on police cameras parked for five minutes in the same location where Finocchiaro's body was found.

Detectives said they found blood in the trunk of Mosley's car trunk and on items in his apartment, including a baseball bat and 40-pound dumbbell.

Mosley will serve 15 years in the Missouri Department of Corrections.
