Man shoots driver after hit-and-run injures 2

ST. LOUIS – Police said the driver of a car was shot and after a hit-and-run crash in the parking lot of a Church's Chicken that sent two other women to the hospital early Monday morning.

Police were called to the 800 block of North Kingshighway just after 1 a.m. where two people were struck by a car. Both women were rushed to the hospital. One had a broken pelvis and the other had a broken leg.

During the investigation, a 47-year-old man told police the driver intentionally hit the women. He also told police he shot at the car that struck the women, but the car left the scene. The driver, a 21-year-old woman, arrived at the hospital with a gunshot wound to the leg.

The man who fired shots at the car was arrested. The three women involved were still in the hospital at the time of this writing.

The investigation is ongoing.
