Investigation underway after man shot to death in Hillsdale, victim identified

HILLSDALE, Mo. — Police are investigating after a man was shot to death in Hillsdale Tuesday afternoon.

Officers responded to the 2000 block of Cherry Avenue around 4:15 p.m. where a 48-year-old man was found shot inside a car on the street. He was rushed to the hospital for treatment but died from his wounds.

On Wednesday, police identified him as Ronald Zimmerman, a 48-year-old resident of north St. Louis County.

Police said a second victim, a man possibly in his 40s, was also an occupant in the car. He was not injured.

Investigation revealed two suspects got out of a different car and shot into the victims' car. They then got back into their car and left.

This is the second deadly shooting in St. Louis County on Tuesday. Just before noon, a 17-year-old was shot to death in Jennings.
