Shooting at north St. Louis County gas station leaves man dead Monday

Police said the 20-year-old victim was shot in the parking lot of the Circle K on Lucas and Hunt Road.

NORWOOD COURT, Mo. — A man was fatally shot Monday afternoon at a north St. Louis County gas station.

According to the St. Louis County Police Department, officers with the Central County Precinct responded at about 3:20 p.m. to a shooting at the Circle K at 5215 Lucas and Hunt Road in Norwood Court. There, a man suffering life-threatening gunshot wounds was found in the parking lot.

Police said the man, 20-year-old Dennis Cooperwood of St. Louis, was taken to an area hospital, where he later died.

The investigation was remained ongoing.
