ST. LOUIS — St. Louis police are investigating after a man was found stabbed near the Central West End MetroLink station.
Police said they received a report of a shooting that occurred on a MetroLink train, but when officers arrived they found the victim had been stabbed. Metro said the stabbing did not occur on the train.
Kevin Scott, the general manager of security for Bi-State Development, said the incident happened off of MetroLink's property. He said the victim got onto the MetroLink near the Civic Center MetroLink Station and the victim got onto the train to get help.
In an update, police said it appeared the man was injured before boarding the train and was trying to use it as transportation to Barnes Jewish Hospital. The hospital is located near the MetroLink station in the city's Central West End neighborhood.
Editor's note: A previous version of this story said a shooting occurred on a MetroLink train based on an item published to the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department's current incident log. That item has been removed from the log, and police have provided an update,
