ST. LOUIS — An investigation is underway after two men were shot near Interstate 70 in north St. Louis Thursday morning.
Officers responded to a call for shots fired followed by an accident at W. Florissant Avenue along Interstate 70 around 11:45 a.m. Police later said the shooting occurred on W. Florissant Avenue at Thrush near the I-70 ramp.
The two men were in a vehicle together and exchanged gunfire with another vehicle that left the scene.
Aerial images from Sky5 showed two vehicles with damage.
The two men were involved in a vehicle accident with another vehicle that was not involved in the shooting. The driver of that vehicle was injured and transported to a hospital.
Police said a gun was recovered from the victim’s vehicle.
Further investigation revealed the vehicle occupied by the victims had been reported stolen out of Kirkwood.
No other details have been made available.
On Wednesday, a person driving on I-70 was not injured when someone in another car shot their car. The incident happened near East Grand Avenue a little after 3 p.m.
Police said the victim was not hit by the gunfire, but the car was.
