Marijuana dispensaries damaged overnight in attempted robberies

Police said two Bloc dispensaries were damaged in attempted burglaries in Richmond Heights and Valley Park.

ST. LOUIS COUNTY, Mo. — Two more marijuana dispensaries were damaged in St. Louis County overnight Wednesday into Thursday.

Police said two Bloc dispensaries were damaged in attempted burglaries in Richmond Heights and Valley Park.

A spokesman for the St. Louis County Police Department said a burglary alarm at the Valley Park store started sounding at 2:45 a.m. When officers arrived, they found major damage to the exterior doors and windows.

Officers said the suspects were already gone by the time officers arrived. The spokesman said they did not know if any inventory at the store had been taken.

A security fence was damaged and doors and windows were damaged.

A spokesman for the Richmond Heights Police Department said the dispensary on Brentwood Boulevard was broken into at around 5 a.m. The spokesman said nothing was stolen, but the building was damaged.

Video from the scene showed a broken window in the front of the store.

These break-ins were the latest in a rash of crimes.

GreenLight Medical Marijuana Dispensary, located at 517 South Florissant Road, was burglarized shortly before 5:30 a.m. Saturday, Ferguson police confirmed.

People on the scene were sweeping up glass from the broken front door of the dispensary after the burglary.
