ST. LOUIS COUNTY – A suspicious package prompted the evacuation of a south St. Louis County post office Monday afternoon.
Valerie Welsch, a spokesperson for the U.S. Post Office, says someone ran into the branch in the 5600 block of Telegraph Road, dropped a bag, and then ran out.
Officer Shawn McGuire with the St. Louis County Police Department says officers evacuated the post office and within 300 feet of the package.
The Bomb & Arson team investigated the package and found a container of some kind that did contain a small amount of marijuana.
The post office is now open.
