Amber Alert canceled after 2-year-old girl found safe by police in St. Joseph, Missouri

ST JOSEPH, Mo. — The Missouri State Highway Patrol canceled an Amber Alert after police found a 2-year-old girl taken from a St. Joseph home by a man earlier in the day.

The Amber Alert, which was issued at around 4:50, said the girl was inside a home on Promenade Lane when 29-year-old Jeremiah Latour and two other men forced their way into the home.

He took the child and drove off in a white, 2013 GMC Acadia with Missouri license plates EF1S3G. The Amber Alert said he was armed with an unknown weapon when he forced his way into the home.

Less than an hour later, the Highway Patrol said Jeremiah Latour contacted the police department in St. Joseph and the girl was found safe.

No other information about the incident has been provided.
