CREVE COEUR, Mo. — A Missouri Baptist University student was arrested this month for allegedly bringing a handgun to football practice at Spartan Field.
According to the St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorney's Office, 21-year-old Tony Brasfield of Glasgow Village was charged with unlawful use of a weapon, concealed carry, for bringing a gun onto the university's campus on Oct. 10.
Creve Coeur police said the football coach found the Taurus G2C pistol inside the 21-year-old's bag in the team's locker room.
The student was arrested after practice, and he told police the firearm was his, he was aware it was inside the bag and that he knew weapons were prohibited on campus.
If convicted on the Class B misdemeanor, Brasfield could face up to six months in jail and/or a fine of up to $1,000, the Prosecuting Attorney's Office said.
