Argument over who had the faster car led to one Missouri man killing another

The St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorney's Office proved beyond a reasonable doubt that one man killed another over an argument about whose car was faster.

OVERLAND, Mo. — On Wednesday, Deonte M. Robinson, 25, was convicted of second-degree murder and armed criminal action at the St. Louis County Circuit Court

The St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorney's Office was able to prove without a reasonable doubt that Robinson killed Sean Waldo after the two got into an argument about cars.

On Dec. 31 2021, Robinson and Waldon argued inside of a house on the 9400 block of Miriam Avenue about who had the fastest car. This led the two men to a physical fight.

Robinson shot and killed Waldon as he entered a car to leave with his family inside.

The Overland Police Department investigated the incident.

"We see too many arguments escalate into physical fights and too many physical confrontations escalate into gun violence. Sean Waldon should still be alive, and I can only hope this guilty verdict brings peace to Sean's family," said St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorney Wesley Bell in a statement.

The court set sentencing for Dec. 15.
