ST. LOUIS – The St. Louis Circuit Attorney's office has dropped first-degree murder charges against three men in a 2016 drive-by shooting on I-55 that killed a passenger holding a toddler.

The charges were dropped against Antwone Stallworth, Anthony Stallworth and Antwuan Morrow Jr. because there were problems with witnesses.

According to police, a vehicle was traveling on southbound I-55 near Arsenal street around 1 a.m. Aug. 12, 2016, when someone opened fire. A man was struck in the side and leg and Sigaria Shanklin, a 25-year-old woman, was struck in the head and was pronounced dead on the scene.

There was also a two-year-old boy in the car, but police said he was not injured.

The Circuit Attorney's office says the shooting is still under investigation.
