The crime happened around 350 feet away from a strip of hustle and bustle in the Wydown business district.

On Wednesday morning, Ben Poremba proudly sat in front of Bar Moro. The culinary experience joins a row of restaurants and businesses.

"There are some of the best operators in town right here. It has a great ubran feel to it and residential mixed with some really great mom and pop shops on the strip," Poremba said.

That's what drew him to Wydown.

That's why the shooting was shocking to the restaurant owner.

"I never think of Wydown, violent crime is not something we face or think we would've faced here. People really wanted to if they knew anybody or what's the story or if we had any insight. Most people saw it as an isolated event," Poremba shared.

While the investigation continues, Poremba is confident in the community they've created in Clayton.

"We have a great business district here, people know each other and people collaborate," Poremba added.

The Major Case Squad is helping investigate this case with the Clayton Police Department.
