ST. LOUIS — A shooting in early Thursday morning in north St. Louis' East Kingsway neighborhood left two people dead.
According to the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department, officers responded at about 3:20 a.m. Thursday to a shooting outside of an apartment building in the 1600 block of North Kingshighway Boulevard, near Hollywood Beauty Supply and the Urban League of Metropolitan St. Louis. They found two men, 42-year-old Marshun White of St. Ann and 34-year-old Marcus Price of St. Louis, who were unconscious and not breathing with gunshot wounds.
The victims were pronounced dead at the scene, and a handgun was recovered, police said.
The Homicide Division assumed the ongoing investigation.
During a police press conference Thursday, a department spokesman said the two men appeared to be hanging out on the porch of the complex when they were shot. He said one of the victims lived at the complex.
He said investigators have multiple leads that they are pursuing.
The shooting was less than a mile away from a quadruple shooting that left two people dead and two others hospitalized just hours before.
