ST. LOUIS — A man was shot several times, including in the head, just after midnight Sunday in St. Louis.
At 12:29 a.m., officers received a call for the report of a shooting in the 4500 block of Margaretta, which is in north city's Penrose neighborhood. They arrived to find a man facedown with several gunshot wounds. They said he was unconscious and barely breathing. Police have said the man was shot in the head and torso.
Emergency crews rushed the man to a nearby hospital. He is listed in critical condition, police said Sunday morning, adding that the homicide division is taking over the investigation.
Police have not identified the man but said he is 41 years old.
