Pedestrian killed Monday in north St. Louis hit-and-run crash

Police said the driver fled the scene of the deadly crash.

ST. LOUIS — One person died after being struck by a vehicle early Monday morning in north St. Louis.

According to the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department, Accident Reconstruction investigators were called to the scene of a pedestrian crash at about 1:50 a.m. Monday near Lee and East Prairie avenues, just blocks away from Fairground Park.

The driver left the scene, and the pedestrian was killed, police said.

As of Monday morning, the investigation was ongoing, and police had not yet shared the victim's identity.
