Person found shot in the head late Christmas night in Ferguson

FERGUSON, Mo. — A shooting in St. Louis County has left one person wounded Christmas night.

Just before 10 p.m. Monday, police said the victim was shot in the head near a home in the 5900 block of Laurette Avenue and Haplin Drive in Ferguson. 

Emergency crews took the person to the hospital. Their condition is unknown at this time.

This shooting was part of a string of violence that happened during the holiday weekend. Five people were shot in St. Louis on Christmas Eve, and three of those people died from their injuries, according to police.

All of the incidents are under investigation. Police urged anyone with information to call CrimeStoppers at 866-371-TIPS (8477).
