BERKELEY, Mo. — A stretch of westbound Interstate 70 near North Hanley Road was closed to traffic for more than two hours Tuesday afternoon.
Authorities responded to a call for "shots fired" and a crash shortly before 3:15 p.m. A pickup truck with a damaged front end was haphazardly parked the wrong way on the shoulder.
It was unclear if anyone was struck by gunfire, but detectives and evidence technicians could be seen processing the scene near the crash.
The roadway reopened shortly after 5:30 p.m.
The incident is being handled by Berkeley police. An email sent to police Chief Art Jackson was not immediately returned.
