It is a popular street where there is always something unexpected to explore.

"We especially like going to concerts. We like to go out to eat,” said Christinna Swearingen.

Michael Viviano said, "Sometimes I go to the Tivoli right behind us."

"Yeah, the Loop is a fun place to walk around,” said Ariel Rariden.

But one thing no one saw coming in the Delmar Loop happened in broad daylight.

"I'm kind of surprised at what's going on around here," said Godiva Washington.

University City Police reported two back-to-back armed robberies around 11 a.m. Friday.

They happened behind multiple businesses in the 1600 block of Delmar Blvd.

"That kind of behavior is something I would expect at two in the morning,” Rariden said.

Washington said, "That's definitely out of context for this area."

One victim said the suspects held him up while he was still in his car.

The other alerted responding police that he was also just robbed by who he believed to be the same suspects.

"That's pretty appalling. People should be able to go places with the expectation they're not going to get robbed,” Swearingen said.

For a neighborhood dependent on visitors feeling safe, the crimes come as a major concern.

Viviano said, "I've never been concerned about being down here during the day."

“If that kind of stuff is happening in broad daylight, it's all just kind of sketchy,” Rariden said.

Now, some are hoping surveillance footage from the area that captured the robberies will lead to two arrests.

Washington said, “People got to speak up I guess and expose these guys."

A manager at Racanelli’s Pizza said one victim worked for him and the other worked at a nearby business.

At last check, both suspects were at large.

Police are looking for these two men after two armed robberies in the Delmar Loop Friday morning.

They were last seen in a four door bluish-green sedan with tinted windows.
